Q: What is your inspiration?
A: Imagination.
Q: What artists or movements do you see your work as being related to?
A: It’s best not to be categorized; it can’t be put in a box.
Q: Do you have any upcoming projects?
A: I am working on a book with teNeues to be published in the fall, called “Beautiful Disasters.”
Q: Could you please describe your technique and process?
A: Sizzle and steak. It’s best just to make the photographs and let the viewer decide.
Q: How did you first get involved with art?
A: It happened by accident. I thought I was going to be a commercial photographer and do ad campaigns all over the world but collectors quickly began to collect my limited edition photographs, which are now featured in galleries around the world.
Q: Who are your favorite artists?
A: Tom Wesselmann and Steve Jobs.
Q: Do you have any formal training?
A: I graduated from Parsons School of Design in New York City.
Q: How do you see your work?
A: My brain is my camera and my eyes are the shutter. I try not to “analyze” the work and let the viewers decide. What they think is none of my business. I am on a mission and suffer from an insatiable appetite to make the next photograph.
Q: Do you digitally alter your photographs at all?
A: Very minor digital work. Digital to my photography is much like salt and pepper to the meal. It just adds to the flavor.
