Regine Schumann | Site-Specific Installations

Cologne-based artist Regine Schumann is amongst the most notable artists working in the field of acrylic sculpture today. Her work beautifully explores the relationships between color, light and architecture. From multiple panels of light to monumental blocks of pulsating color, Regine Schumann’s work is truly a visual experience.

Schumann’s sculptures are created to interact with light; the colors of the sculptures will change throughout the day and from different vantage points. In addition, if black lights are installed, which can easily replace standard lights in a track, another range of colors come to life.

Schumann utilizes technology to create digital sketches for installations, such as the example above which shows the layout of her last exhibition. The Artist often creates such sketches to assist with site-specific installations, or to brainstorm ideas for commissions with clients.
