Light Art in Germany

January 9, 2014

Light Art in Germany in the 21st Century

In celebration of the exhibition at the Art Museum Celle, we would like to announce an exhibition featuring Hans Kotter, Regine Schumann and Ruby Anemic.

Taking part are light art pioneers, classic artists and trend setters – from Mack to Piene, from Kotter to Mattner, from Berresheim to Schumann – who are related to Germany by dint of their origin, place of residence, training or apprenticeship.

Established as a young and innovative art form a good 100 years ago, light art has evolved in recent years in Germany to become a “light art scene” with international reach. Since 1998, the Art Museum Celle has consciously focused on the field of light art – its collection of international light art is regarded as one of the most comprehensive of its kind.
