Andy Warhol

A leading figure in the 60s pop art movement; Andy Warhol is one of the most world-renowned modern artists. Known for his iconic graphic art, Warhol blends pop culture, color, and art into work that is simply magnetic. After successfully working as a commercial illustrator, Warhol explored many different types of media in art that include: drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, silk screening, sculpting, filming, and playing music. After naming his New York Studio, The Factory, Warhol brought together many artistic individuals from intellectuals, drag queens, playwrights, street artists, celebrities, and patrons. He managed and produced the popular rock band, The Velvet Underground, and founded Interview Magazine. Warhol has been showcased in many respected institutions and has created some of the most expensive artwork in the market. After his death, Warhol established his estate as a Foundation for the Arts, hoping to help out future visionaries of this world. Warhol also has his own museum, located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the city he was born in.
